This has been my newest guilty pleasure for about a month now and I must tell you to be careful as it can be addicting! Pinterest is a GREAT way to get ideas (not only for your wedding but for various aspects of your life) and it is ALSO a GREAT way to keep your vendors (as well wedding party, moms, sisters, etc.) in the loop of your wedding design & planning! Please feel free to follow our pins by following Kelly Sugano and Christine Nip to see pictures and ideas of weddings we have done as well as inspiration we find. Here are just a few things that I recently found and love!
White table decor
I love that the bride & groom will each of their guests as they exit…and the desgin…SO romantic! from bridalcookie.com

Today, we visited a beautiful venue at the Moana Surfrider Hotel in Waikiki. The Arluis or Moana Chapel was opened in February 2010 and is the first beachfront chapel in Waikiki. This intimate venue caters to destination wedding couples who prefer a smaller venue right next to the sand and waters of Hawaii. Below are some pictures from our site visit!
From the initial consultation I had, I knew I would LOVE every moment of working with Christie & Michael and I was eagerly looking forward to what I knew would be a BEAUTIFUL wedding!
Bouquet (and all flowers from Su-V Expressions)
As I always do…I LOVED the flowers that Sue can created! SO FRESH and full!!!
1 of the flower girls' pomanders 🙂
Christie's bridal bouquet
and Larisa, one of my assistants for Christie & Michael's wedding being VERY helpful while she finishes the place cards that were beautifully created by Christie!
Christie & Michael's candy bar…almost complete (just waiting on the cupcakes)…the beautiful linen by Naomi Lee of Les Saisons! To help Christie & Michael, I offered to setup, replenish, & breakdown their candy bar as long as they provided all supplies…and I must say it was a HIT!
The 2nd floor ballroom with all linen ready…just waiting for flowers and settings…
then I made my way to th Hau Terrace to oversee the ceremony setup. Along the aisle per Christie's request, Naomi made her famous rosettes using her chair sashes
and Sue of Su-V Expressions was hard at work setting up the intricate ceremony archway for Christie & Michael's ceremony.
a closeup of the finished arch. It was TRULY beautiful and romantic!!! When I get professional pictures, I will be sure to share them 🙂
and along the aisle…these clean and romantic submerged flowers
the ceremony site completed 🙂
and right ON TIME…it was Christie & Michael's big moment!!! There was no other way to describe it except PERFECT (even the gentle breezes of wind were there )!
Their wedding cake created by the Halekulani Hotel…I love the romantic scrolls!
the FINISHED candy bar!!!
The cupcakes from Cakes by an Angle in the wrappers and boxes provided by Christie! While working with Christie, I could not help but notice how similar we are by personality and what she likes!
1 of the 2 types of centerpieces
and the finished ballroom!
and finished head table…with my picture, it is hard to see but the simple vases of various flower arrangements along the front really gave the head table a finished and complete romantic look
It was truly an honor to be a part of Christie & Michael’s wedding!!!
CONGRATULATIONS MR. & MRS. MICHAEL & CHRISTIE TANAKA!!!
Although I didn’t get home until 2:30am (from Telianne & Chang-Ho’s wedding), I was up at 9:20am…and hoping to have some dim sum. I got up and was happy to find out that Riki, Marissa, and Meghan were also up and ready to have dim sum. I know it is frustrating to have your car breakdown….which is what happened to Riki, Marissa, and Meghan the night before…but I must admit that I enjoyed driving Riki, Marissa, and Meghan around!
Meghan waiting nicely for the dim sum cart to come around…

I treated myself to a piece of butter mochi 🙂
my mouth watered just thinking about eating some sweet seeds
By the time I finished making my purchase, I went outside to find Meghan already enjoying hers!
it might be me spending so much time at weddings, but I can see this picture in Meghan's slideshow when she gets married 🙂
After Chinatown, we made our way to Sprint to check out their new phones and see if it would be a good & practical upgrade….
Although I didn’t change my phone, Marissa & Mike did!
Meghan & I as we wait for Uncle Mike to get his phone switched
Once we got back home, I passed out and took an hour power nap. Once I woke up, I realized that my husband (Mike) and his dad had been VERY busy! They moved the fish pond that we had in the front of our property to the back yard (which I had been wanting for a LONG time). I am starting to LOVE the backyard!!! Now I just need to fix up the front again 😉
As I have been taking so many pictures for our blog, my niece Meghan has learned quickly and now likes to take pictures with my camera too! Here are some she took of us at Dots (where we ended up having dinner at).

Me & Mike
Me again…Meghan was sitting across from me, so I seem to have been the easiest target 😉
I am the chapter Secretary for the NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) Hawaii Chapter which meets once a month. During one of our last meetings, I took a quick picture of our other board members:
Our Board (made up of independent professionals as well as Catering Manager/Directors from various hotels)
After our board meeting, it was a little past 9:00pm so a few of us were hungry and wanting dinner (and quick), so we made our way to Mac 24 (since our board meeting was at the Pacific Beach Hotel). I had a spicy tuna pita…but should have known better (I only like the spicy tuna from Genki or the Waimalu Safeway).
The next time, I had dinner at home…and LOOK what Mike made for me 🙂
I know…I know…I know…I am SOOOO Lucky! Mike does ALL the cooking! AND he is GREAT at it!
The next day, I made my way to the office to meet with Jenny, Dustin, and Naomi (of Les Saisons) to look at what their linen options are…
As Meghan, Reid, and the wedding party were going to the Courthouse for some picture taking and different backgrounds, they had hired a limousine from Ichiban. As I had staff with Meghan & an assistant with Reid, I made my way to meet the limousine…and found him early (YAY!!!)
Hummer limousine waiting at near the valet area

I LOVE how clean the limousine was…and NO RUST!!!
After Meghan & Reid took a few pictures in front of the waterfall, they made their way to board the limousine…
Reid and his groomsmen, happy & relaxed…just the way I like it!
Wedding party in the limousine about to depart…
Once the wedding party left the Hyatt, I knew they would be in very capable hands as my assistant Derek was going to be there…so I treated Larisa, Elin (my assistants at The Hyatt) to lunch at the Terrace Grill. As we ate lunch, I was able to see the ceremony site being setup…
Yes…the Hyatt staff even put on metal brackets to the backs of the shoji screens…this way, the wind won't blow them over

As the ceremony setup was going smoothly, I then began to make my way back to the ballroom when I saw the wedding party returning from the Courthouse…
with my assistant Larisa with the wedding party, I knew picture taking would continue smoothly

Completed ceremony site…just need the aisle runner and green flowers down the middle…
And 30 minutes before the ceremony, we always end all picture taking so the wedding party can relax & freshen up and the vendors can do final preps before the ceremony begins…

Lawrence and his assistant from The DJ…they did an AMAZING job staying flexible and adjusting when needed
and before Meghan & Reid were done for the night…and were about to go up to their hotel room, they were nice enough to take a picture with me…
Don't they make a GREAT couple!!!
HUGE THANK YOU to Janice & Davis of Video 21 for their amazing Video!!! I hope you enjoy!
Since Mike and I were going to be in town anyway, I stopped by the Bride Wars event The Wedding Cafe was presenting…and I am SO glad I did! As soon as I got there, I bumped into

I truly enjoyed watching the brides play many different actvities and completely appreciated the planning that The Wedding Cafe must have put into the event. I especially appreicated how there was never really a loser for any activity! If at the end of an activity, someone had not yet won a prize, they were including in the next activity until they won. GREAT job Tanna and The Wedding Cafe!!!
Tanna Dang & Gregg Hammer emceeing the event and ensuring the flow is smooth and the crowd is intreagued. Kris Labang of On 3 Photography taking what I can only assume would be some GREAT pictures!
